On June 17, 2022, Regional Manager Kathy Porter and her team surprised and celebrated Donna Sumner’s retirement after 11 years of hard work and dedication to CAHEC Management, Inc.
Donna managed Buena Vista which consists of 96 apartments located on two separate sites in Union, SC. Buena Vista Phase I was originally built in 1982 and Phase II in 1985. In 2010, Buena Vista was included in our portfolio preservation program where its Rural Development loan was refinanced, and low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC) were utilized to provide funding for a major renovation.
Sharing in Donna’s celebration were her co-workers, residents, her two daughters and grandchildren. Donna said, “I haven’t been surprised with a party since I was 13 years old!” Donna will be staying on in an “as needed” basis so, for us, it was not goodbye but we will see you soon.
