CAHEC Properties Corporation Overview
CPC is responsible for (i) structuring, negotiating, and closing new and resyndicated development projects, (ii) providing owner representation for properties owned by CPC and its affiliates, and (iii) acquiring affordable properties that are at risk of removal from the affordable housing stock. Through its affiliates, CPC is the Managing Member or General Partner for over two hundred and thirty multifamily affordable housing communities and, in this role, is responsible for the physical and economical oversight of each property. Specifically, CPC is responsible to ensure all applicable compliance is maintained, the physical condition of each property is at a high quality, all local, state, and federal reporting requirements are met, and financial commitments to investors and other stakeholders are maintained. CPC is also responsible for overseeing all property and corporate accounting and finance functions of CPC and its affiliated entities.
Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager of CPC is the owner’s primary contact when collaborating with Architects, General Contractors, Inspection Officials and other third parties involved in design and construction of properties owned by CAHEC affiliates. Working with Development Team, the Assistant Project Manager will coordinate developing the construction scope of work and establishing base construction pricing based on property’s existing condition, requirements of funding partners (State HFA’s, Lenders, equity providers and others) and historical operational / construction data. During construction, the Assistant Project Manager will work with construction related third parties to address changes in scheduling and scope of work and coordinate inspections and submittals of periodic payment requisitions. Post-construction the Assistant Project Manager will provide for an orderly close-out of construction by establishing a final inspection and warranty process that includes participation of the Property Manager or other delegated CAHEC Management Inc, (CMI) employees as determined by CMI’s VP of Property Management. Additionally, this position will work with the Project Manager on all duties to ensure policies and procedures are followed and appropriate documentation is maintained and filed.
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum three (3) years progressively responsible experience relevant to multifamily property development, portfolio management, and problem resolution. Experience in multi-family housing construction and design, as well as property maintenance.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as real estate management, construction management, architectural, engineering, or other construction related fields. Or an equivalent combination of education and comparable work experience.
